Agriturismo Podere il Fornacino is a beautifully restored ancient farmhouse situated in the stunning Pisan hills, tucked underneath the medieval village of Santa Luce, amongst ancient olive groves in a nature reserve; it's 15 minutes from the beautiful Etruscan coast and it's gorgeous beaches (we offer boat trips to see the coast from a different perspective) and near to all the main tourist attractions Tuscany has to offer...Pisa 30minutes, Livorno 30minutes, Casciana Terme 15 minutes, Florence 40minutes, San Gimignano 45minutes....saying this if you'd like a Tuscan country experience there's no better place! The area as stated previously whilst being close to all the main attractions is situated in an area of Tuscany which hasn't yet been discovered by mainstream tourism, which means pace and quite and an authentic tuscan atmosphere with no hustle or bustle...exactly at the pace nature dictates! The local medival villages (Santa Luce, Riparbella, Montescudaio, Terriciola, Volterra) and the countryside are almost exactly as they have always been, people live at the same pace as 60 years ago and tradition is still a fundamental, making the local area the perfect place to have a very rich experience.
We have 3 suites available for rent: Suite del Tramonto and Suite delle Rose which consist of an entrance, a large double bedroom, a spacious bathroom and a living room with two single sofa beds. The suites have their own private entrances and large balcony/terrace which lead directly on the large private lawn & garden, there are beautiful views over the valley and are equipped with tables and chairs. Suite degli Innamorati is made up of a private balcony & autonomous entrance, a beautiful double bedroom with a large bathroom with a jacuzzi whereas Suite degli Innamorati 2 is as described previously plus next to it there is another double bedroom with it's own private bathroom (stanza delle Ginestre). In all the rooms there is a large flatscreen TV, DvD player and DVD library, books, games, tea and coffee making facilities etc; all the modern comforts whilst maintaining traditional it's Tuscan charm (The electricity & hot water are produced through our solar panels.)
One of the highlights of the eco-agriturismo is the restaurant, where Marco cooks taster menus which change daily cooking with the freshest, seasonal organic ingredients produced on the agriturismo to create multiple course dinners (a few aperitivi, 2 first courses, second course, dessert, a bottle of wine, coffee & water ) this means that we don't offer the self-catering option but apart from eating at the agriturismo there are loads of little trattorie nearby.
Our guests also have private use of our large garden & lawns, panoramic swimming pool and bar/relaxation area and can also visit our farm where our really friendly animals await you (donkeys, horses, goat, sheep, rabbits, cows, chickens, ducks, geese, dogs and cats!!!) It's a really fun experience for everyone & we love to show people around as we think it's an important part of our lifestyle and we love our guests to feel part of it!
