Wonderful bastide in Vence - Views of St Paul de Vence, down to Cap d'Antibes
An amazing 5 bedroom bastide situated just a few minutes drive outside the wonderful medieval town of Vence. Known as the 'City of Art', Vence is filled with artisans, mostly based in the Medieval part of the old town. The way the house is set out it would easily be possible to convert it from a comfortable family home into a bed and breakfast. With two separate entrances, plus the main bedrooms, to the left of the front of the house (in a bungalow shape) with a sink in each room, makes this a great option. The owners could then use the left hand side and first floor of the house with the upstairs bedroom 5/office area and their own front door and hallway. Vence is a popular tourist area, so a business such as this would be welcomed into the town with open arms. Plenty of shops, supermarkets, a school and other amenities are based here and it is only a short distance from Nice. Close to the airport, Nice, Antibes, and Cannes. A short 30 minute drive to Monaco, and if you continue a little further into Italy you can shop at the markets. This house was built in 1970 and has been lovingly looked after ever since. Walking around, you discover quaint things. There is a small wine area, just off the sitting room under the stairs and in the dining room, a working bread oven with a spit above. There are also magnificent views from all the main rooms of the house of the famous town of St Paul de Vence and the Cap d'Antibes. Quiet, even though it is off the main road into Vence. This is because the house is set down a driveway, lower than the road. No traffic noise, just the sound of the church bell chiming the hour. The garden is an absolute delight to relax in.
