Gaz or oil boiler for 14 room house? (no replies)

Hi,
Looking at a place that needs new heating.
Any recommendations to oil or gas fired boilers? I'd need to heat the place but will also need hot water for kitchen and up to 3 bathrooms.
I'm told that I would be better off with a conventional boiler rather than a combi due to the size of the house. I am able and willing to do the kitchen and bathroom installations, piping and hanging of rads so would need fuel tank, pipework for the same, boiler supplied? and fitted and commissioned.
Any ideas? Ballpark figures? Anyone else done the same in the past year or two?
Thanks all.

My wife and I are keen to buy a property (3-4 bedroom)in the Brittany/Normandy region in France for us to use at weekends etc etc.

Additionally we would want to rent out the property as holiday and weekend lets. However our concerns are;
- would there be sufficient interest to do so
- is there a demand for holiday houses in this area
- are there any property management agents in France, or would UK based be preferable who could manage the poperty and arrange for its rental ?

Any advice/information would be very useful.

Many thanks.

My wife and i are thinking of buying two properties in Brittany with the thought of living in one and renting the other out as a holiday cottage. We are not stupid and know that we will not make a fortune, if only just a living but we just hoped someone out there could spare a few minutes in answering our few questions:

Do you pay income tax on 100% of the rent income or can you offset electricity etc? Is there a personal tax allowance before income tax kicks in?

How often do you need change the furniture? Do you take a breakages deposit on arrival from clients?

Thanx

We are currently selling our house. We have signed 2 compromis de vente already, only to have the buyer pull out before the end of the cooling-off period in both cases. Now we have two similar offers on the table (with 2 different estate agents). Is it possible to sign 2 compromis de vente at the same time and, if neither buyer pulls out, pull out of one of them ourselves before the end of the cooling-off period?
We really want to give ourselves a bit of insurance.

I intend buying a property in the charente department in the near future for holidays and investment purposes, and during my research at exibitions and speaking to agents, leaseback was being promoted as a straight forward and relativley risk free proposition. The property has to be leased back to the developer for a minimum of 9 years to qualify for the 19.6% VAT discount and an index linked guaranteed income. What concerns me is that after the 9 years are up and you decided not to renew the lease, would you have to pay back a pro-rata amount of VAT.Could a problem arise between yourself and the developer because by not renewing the lease you would be taking income away from his management company.
I would be very interested to hear your views or experiences, good or bad about leaseback.
