The Location
Chamrousse is situated in the Isere region, half an hour away from Grenoble. Located at an altitude of 1700 metres at the South of the splendid Belledonne mountain range, the resort of Chamrousse dominates the valley of Grenoble with penetrating views over the surrounding mountain ranges of the Oisan, the Vercors and Chartreuse.
Chamrousse links together two winter sports resorts which are connected by a regular shuttle service. “Recoin” at Chamrousse at an altitude of 1650m and “Roche Béranger” at Chamrousse at an altitude of 1750m. These two combined resorts offer an excellent range of facilities and have been the “cradle” of Alpine skiing for over a century. The combined skiing area has 77km of marked trails reserved for Alpine skiing and also 40 km of cross country skiing trails in the forest plateau of Arselle. There are pistes for boarders and skiers of all levels to enjoy, aswell as a snow park and mini boardercross. There are a whole host of activities as well as skiing such as paragliding, hiking, climbing and golf making the resort a perfect all year round holiday destination.
