| | | Pralognan, the capital of La Vanoise is situated in the heart of the Vanoise National Park at an altitude of 1,418 metres amidst a mountain valley of forests and meadows. The skiing area of Pralognan is at an altitude of between 1 400 and 2 300 m. with an excellent snow record due to the nearby La Vanoise glaciers. Pralognan is near two of France’s most famous winter sports resorts: 9 km from La Plagne with a ski area of 225 km and 20 km from Courchevel part of The Three Valleys, one of the largest ski areas in the world. These two winter sports resorts are accessible by the daily bus service which runs between Pralognan and the two ski areas.
