Just outside the village of Eyne, at the foot of the ski runs, a medium-sized resort is being built. In all over 200 apartments will be built, which are to be fitted into the landscape in a pleasant and original way. Essential provisions constitute the heart of the resort. The central reception is located there, but also small shops, hotel and catering facilities, sports facilities and swimming pools. Moreover the developers have complied with the request of the municipality to also incorporate the local brewery. This brewery produces a delicious spicy beer, which is characteristic of the Pyrenees. The project commands a splendid view of the valley with across the well known resort of Font Romeu. This can easily be reached within 10 minutes and offers practically everything the holidaymaker might wish for.
The apartments have habitable surfaces ranging from 50 m² to 70 m². From all orientations there is a magnificent view of the mountains and the valleys. All aprtments are finished to an extremely high standard, and are provided with luxury kitchens with most of the equipment built in.

The Pyrenees
The magnificent mountains and rock massifs of the south of France and Andorra are rated among the most beautiful of Europe. The beauty of the scenery to be found here is still virtually unspoilt. Most of it remains undiscovered by tourists, and appropriate government measures ensure that the environment is well protected. As a result, any developments such as Résidence Pyrénéal have undergone strict assessment to ensure that it will remain in keeping with municipal regulations on the environment.
Besides the scenery and the extensive skiing opportunities, many overseas investors interest in the Pyrenees is determined by financial aspects. Both letting and buying apartments and chalets is significantly cheaper than in the Alps resulting in a profit which may vary from 20% to 50%.
Font Romeu and the surrounding area
10 minutes down the road, and you will find one of the largest ski resorts in the Pyrenees, Font Romeu. Here, 33 miles of pistes serve all range of skiing abilities, and is the ideal ski resort for families.
During the winter the region of Résidence Pyrénéal is characterised by the winter sports. In the village of Eyne itself and in the surrounding places there are many ski lifts and runs. Beyond the immediate surroundings, scores of other runs are to found, so that the winter sports lover will find an abundance of skiing opportunities in this area. In the summer months the green mountains with the grey rock massifs are breathtakingly beautiful. Long walks can be taken, and there are several golf links in the immediate vicinity. Many people own property in the Pyrenees to use it themselves in summer and to rent it out in winter, or the other way round.
From the Pyrenees various excursions can be made. The Mediterranean with its wonderful sandy beaches and touristy ports, and Perpignan, are less than 90 km. away. The principality of Andorra, where shopping is tax-free, is 40 minutes drive away. Into Spain places like Barcelona can be reached within 1.5 hours. Northward lies the Languedoc region of France with its characteristic cities of Carcassonne and Toulouse, which harbour a rich culture and history.
Investing in the Pyrenees
The increasing interest in the Pyrenees is confirmed by the increase in value that takes place. For some years the increase in value of the land and the property has been more than the French average. Having said this, prices are still relatively lo and it is for many an attractive and affordable area.
The region offers great opportunities for those who are in search of a second house in a sunny environment and also it has a lot to offer for investors who want to take advantage of the value development and renting opportunities. Especially the double high season has a considerable effect on the possibilities to rent out and the yields to be gained in this way.
A completely different aspect is the possibility for a VAT refund. About 20% of the purchase price can be refunded by the French treasury. If most of the purchase price has been financed by a French mortgage only a small part remains that has to be financed by means of private capital. Thus, for many, a beautiful apartment in this splendid resort is within reach.
