With his spacious entrance, living room, dining room, atelier of 75 sq. m., library, 10 (bed)rooms, kitchen, 3 bathrooms and 5 toilets it has a lot of possibilities. And then there are also 6 other spaces in the basement. Of cause you can live in it , alone, as a king in France, but you can also easily welcome groups up to 20 persons, or use a part for "bed and breakfast", or maybe as an holiday house for 4 families or ......; The house is nice situated in a small,charming village with about 300 inhabitants. It's really quiet. To give an impression: You will have to drive at least 43 kilometer to find traffic lights. There are no highways, there is no industry and yes, it's the part of France with the cleanest air. 5 Minutes walking there is a tennis court, most of the time free. 15 Minutes by car there is a beautiful and always quit lake for swimming and surfing. 30 Minutes by car there are two golf links. 60 Minutes by car there is the ski ressort of the Massif Central 60 minutes by car you find the airport of Limoges with regular daily cheap flights from either Stanstead, Liverpool , East Midlands and Southampton. So the house is situated in a village, but it's hidden because the garden of 3500 sq. m. around the house is surrounded by a more then two meter high wall made of bluestone. A big house with such a garden in a small village is not easily to find. The garden gives the impression of a small park. There are nearly 30 old fruit trees: apple-trees,pear-trees, cerise-trees and prune-trees. Some species are rather uncommon. Furthermore there are also herbs and bushes with small fruit. There are roses and other old fashioned ornamental plants. Most of the garden is ordinary grass. But because we mow it late in the season and not to often there are lots of wild flowers, even some orchids. In spring parts are completely white of daisies or grove windflowers, yellow of dandelions, blue of forget-me-not's or violets. There are days you believe you are in a painting of Van Gogh. In the garden there are also two open sheds and a garage. In one of the open sheds there is a barbecue. Somewhat more about the house: It has been built in 1892. The construction is in a very good condition. Inside we have renovated it, with respect for the original details. With the big windows, the white walls and clear position of the several spaces it gives a very friendly and light impression. There is a central heating system on oil. But you can also heat the ground floor with two stoves on wood. The ceilings on the groundwork are isolated. We have the window-panes replaced with thicker window-glass. So, in winter, you can have it comfortable warm and walk barefoot on the oak floors. The electric system is in according with the norms. The house is connected to the sewage network of the village. Eight years ago the gutters are renewed. The chimneys restored and if necessary old slates replaced. To be honest there are still some things to do: the shutters still need to be done and the plaster of the outer walls is not totally intact. This is only important for the view, not for the construction itself. A tour through the house: From the steps you enter the hall. The swing-doors leads to an space with an impressive oak staircase to the first and second floor and a bluestone staircase to the basement. On the right there is a little gangway leading to the living room, two bedrooms and a bathroom with shower, two sinks and a toilet. Also at the left there is gangway leading to the dining room, the kitchen with a storeroom for food, another room and a second toilet. Going upstairs there is, in front of you, a library, formerly a small chapel, with two big stained glass windows. Left the atelier. Very light, a floor suitable for dancing and such an acoustic, that's a joy to make music there. To the right there are three bedrooms and a bathroom with several douches, sinks and two toilets. Going further upstairs there are another four bedrooms and a double bathroom. Going down to the basement you find the wine cellar, the fruit cellar, the former kitchen and three other rooms.
