The chalet is located in the traditional village of Montalbert at an altitude of 1350m. It has been lovingly restored from what was once an old barn and cattle shed, keeping the original main walls and wooden structure and using the original beams and wood. The finished development is full of character and rustic charm mixed with the comfort and style expected from a modern ski chalet.
The residence is situated in the old part of the Montalbert village, bordering the pedestrian zone, with fantastic views of the Beaufortin massif. All local amenities including the ski school, shops, restaurants and cinema are within a five minute walk from the chalet, and the ski lift is only 200 metres away. Although you have to carry your skis for approximately 100 metres, it is possible to ski right to the front door of the chalet on your return. Access to the Grand Plagne ski area takes half an hour by ski lift and the bob sleigh piste is only 15 minutes away.
The residence itself is on three levels, which can be divided into two apartments if the buyer wished to rent out part of the chalet. There are 8 bedrooms, 6 of which are en suite, and the chalet is capable of sleeping 24 people. Extra facilities include a sauna room with a jacuzzi, a tv room and off road parking.
Location
Plagne Montalbert is one of 10 villages that make up the La Plagne ski area. It is one of the more traditional of the resorts with many of the residences built in a Savoyard style with natural materials. It is north facing and has many tree-lined runs, both of which hold the snow until very late in the season, in spite of it being one of the lower altitude resorts. Furthermore the slopes are covered by a network of snow cannons, which allow skiers to reach La Grand Plagne right through the season. In summer there are just as many activities including walking, cycling, mini golf and paragliding.
A network of interconnecting chairlifts takes you to the highest altitude resorts in La Plagne and floodlit night skiing also takes place weekly on one of the Montalbert pistes. Montalbert is part of the Paradiski area, one of the worlds largest ski domaines extending to around 425km of top-notch piste and links to Les Arcs in a mere four minutes by the ultra modern Vanoise Express cable cars.
The resort itself remains largely unspoilt and has a warm welcoming ambience. It is surrounded by breath taking scenery with the Tarentaise valley to one side and Mont Blanc and the surrounding mountains to the other. There are all the necessary amenities in Montalbert including 10 restaurants, bars, supermarkets, ski hire shops and ski schools as well as a cinema and nightclub.
The village of Montalbert is a 15 minute drive from Aime, on the Albertville/Bourg St Maurice axis. It takes less than half an hour to get to Bourg St Maurice or Moutiers and Chambery airport is just over an hour away. Other airports with relatively easy access include Grenoble, Lyon and Geneva.
This is an exclusive opportunity to buy a property, available for use this ski season. It could be purchased as an investment and family holiday home or for a business venture. If you would like further details, please do not hesitate to contact our ski specialists.
