| | | This traditionally built two-storey village house, is ideally positioned on the edge of Ceret, where the town meets the Albere hills. The picturesque little canal, which supplies the town’s gardens with mountain water from distant snow-capped peaks, runs beside the house; a footpath follows its course. In the distance, the Hermitage of St Ferreol, the local patron saint, stands proud on a hilltop. To the South, evergreen oaks cloak the wild hillsides, and a day’s hiking over the mountains could inadvertently end in Spain!
Inside, the large and sunny farmhouse-style kitchen and dining room is at the front of the house. The fitted kitchen is well equipped with fridge, freezer, gas hob, electric fan oven, kettle, toaster, dishwasher etc.
The ground floor bathroom, with bath, shower, WC and washbasin, and the small utility area, with washing machine are situated off the kitchen and dining room.
The comfortably furnished living room with English TV is at the back of the house, and the enclosed garden is reached through its French windows. Steps lead down from a small terrace to the patio where there is a BBQ, and garden furniture – ideal for dining al fresco - and beyond is a small garden with lawn and colourful flower borders.
Upstairs, a central landing leads to four bedrooms. At the front of the house are two rooms, one single and one small room currently being used as a dressing room, where a travel cot can be accommodated if required. The other two bedrooms, one double and one with bunk beds aresituated at the back of the house, and each have French windows which open onto a large “sundeck” terrace furnished with deckchairs and sun loungers. The house benefits from full air conditioning, and heating.
All bed linen and tea towels are provided. Personal towels can be supplied at an additional charge of £5.00 per set of 1 bath and 1 hand towel; you may select this option on the booking form.
All of the town’s amenities are within easy walking distance.
Guests may park in front of the house on the road at their own risk. Alternatively, there is free car parking available a couple of minutes walk from the house.
We welcome long lets and can offer significantly reduced prices between November and March for stays of 4 weeks or more; please enquire for details. Pets welcome.
