La Vieille Maison, originally built in the 17th century, is a relaxed, well established, family-run hotel and restaurant set in the unspoilt, hilltop village of St Paul Lizonne. Just over an hour from the airports of Bordeaux and Bergerac and 30 minutes from Angouleme train station. An ideal place for a week away and a peaceful haven and perfect base for those wishing to explore the idyllic Perigord Vert and stunning surrounding area.
The 9 en-suite bedrooms are complete with original oak beams and period furniture, having been lovingly refurbished in 2007, with the majority of rooms having a magnificent view over the rolling countryside. For complete relaxation there is a large swimming pool and sun-drenched terrace where breakfast and dinner are usually served. The oak beamed restaurant and bar complete the hotel and offer shelter from the sun or occasional rain spoilt day.
A large vegetable garden sits across the road from the hotel, supplying the restaurant with home-grown produce all year round.
In the grounds of the hotel sits the separate owners accommodation with an additional outbuilding providing staff living quarters or alternatively, extra accommodation in the height of the season.
